What Is Black Zirconium?

Black zirconium is a strong, corrosion-resistant metal that
comes in a lustrous black color that will not wear or fade.
Zirconium has been found in S-type stars, and has been
identified in meteorites and the sun. Zirconium does not
conduct heat well and is relatively inert, making it a great
choice for people with base metal allergies. In fact, zirconium
is so safe that it’s used in dentistry in its oxidized form.

Most black rings rely on a dark industrial overlay for their
black color. The overlays only cover the surface of the piece
and can be scratched or chipped, exposing the metal
underneath. Black zirconium bands are black all the way
through. In the unlikely event that it scratches or chips, it will
only display more of the same black material underneath.

Black zirconium bands can have custom engraving and
designs, on both the inside and the outside of the ring. All of
our black zirconium designs can come in a variety of widths
and sizes and are available to order in about one week. In
some cases, we can have it here the very next day.
