What You Don't Know That Can Ruin Your Jewelry
Chlorine and other harsh chemicals will attack the alloys in
your gold jewelry, causing it to become brittle and more
susceptible to breakage and cracking. These effects are not
reversible, so while we can make some repairs, the problems
will remain. Your silver jewelry will tarnish when exposed to
chlorine and similar chemicals. While these chemicals should
not affect platinum metal, it can discolor your diamonds and
gemstones.

We advise removing all jewelry before entering a swimming
pool, hot tub, or sauna and wearing your jewelry while using
cleaning solutions or washing your hands with water in areas
where the ground or tap water contains a high concentration
of chlorine.

In addition, please be sure to clean your jewelry with the
appropriate chemicals. Even some cleaning solutions sold in
stores can hurt jewelry. If you’re unsure about your cleaning
products, please bring your jewelry to us to be cleaned and
evaluated. And, remember, in order to retain your warranty on
your Graham Jewelry purchases, your jewelry must be
inspected and cleaned every three months.
